Role:

As a Senior Marketing Writer at Litmus, you will be one of our main storytellers, tasked with crafting compelling and informative content through a variety of marketing channels. You’ll collaborate closely with marketing, product, and sales teams to discover about our target market, product strengths, and marketing objectives, distilling them into successful written communications that resonate with our customers and prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop compelling and effective marketing copy for a range of materials, including website copy, blog entries, case studies, white papers, ebooks, email campaigns, social media posts, sales collateral, video scripts, and more.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all marketing communications.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content strategies in alignment with overall marketing goals and target audience needs.
  • Keep up with industry trends, competitor activity, and customer research in order to inform content creation.
  • Perform subject matter expert and customer interviews to source information and create compelling stories.
  • Copy edit and proofread all marketing materials for accuracy, clarity, and grammatical correctness.
  • Optimize content for search engines (SEO) and other digital media.
  • Work closely with designers and other creatives to ensure visual and written content are complementary.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Aid in the development of marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest marketing trends and methodologies.
  • Mentor and lead junior writers, aiding in their growth and development.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Marketing Writer or Content Writer, preferably in the software industry.
  • A strong portfolio with a diverse range of writing samples and successful marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • In-depth understanding of marketing principles and best practices.
  • Able to translate complex technical concepts into simple, understandable terms.
  • Strong research and interviewing skills.
  • Experience with SEO and content optimization.
  • Understanding of content management systems (CMS) and marketing automation software.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for delivering high-quality content.
  • B2B writing experience is highly desirable.
  • This is an in-office hybrid position from our Toronto office.
