We seek a talented mid-level copywriter to join our brand and creative marketing team at Chegg. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for developing awesome copy that resonates with our target audience through various channels like paid marketing, CRM/email, campaigns, and in-house creative efforts. The individual will be tasked with creating engagement, conversion, and brand loyalty through his/her creative and effective writing. You have to be crazy about grammar and an opinion regarding the Oxford comma. You’re the dude who attends the Superbowl just to watch the commercials. And most importantly, you’re impressed by clever brand campaigns and psyched about witty copy. We are searching for an ultra-conceptual thinker who will introduce new thinking to our campaigns and steady-state marketing copywriting. Experience at an ad agency would be a bonus!

Roles:
Paid Marketing
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative ideas and copy for digital ad campaigns across various platforms like Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, and more.
- Develop compelling ad copy, headlines, and CTAs that drive clicks, conversions, and ROI.
CRM/Email
- Develop persuasive and targeted email copy for acquisition, retention, and re-engagement campaigns.
- Create email subject lines, body copy, and CTAs that optimize opens, clicks, and conversions.
- Utilize segmentation and personalization strategies to deliver targeted messaging to different sets of customers.
Campaigns
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop integrated marketing campaigns aligned with Chegg’s brand voice and objectives.
- Introduce the big ideas that resonate at students’ pain points and ring true
Create and execute campaign communications on different platforms like social media, website, email, and others.
Use consistency in messaging and branding across all campaign touch points.
In-House Creative Requests
- Support various internal teams (e.g., product, design, content) with copywriting needs for projects such as landing pages, product descriptions, social media posts, and promotional materials.
- Adapt writing style and tone to fit the specific requirements of each project and target audience.
- Collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective communication.
Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related.
- 4+ years of copywriting experience, ideally in a marketing or advertising agency.
- Creative thinker with passion for storytelling and strong audience psychology knowledge.
- Proven track record of creating effective copy for paid marketing campaigns, CRM/email campaigns, and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage several projects concurrently.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas and comments to cross-functional teams.
